Nose Jobs at Work

Rhinoplasty is a horrible cutthroat business (pun intended).

Like many kinds of plastic surgery, rhinoplasty is geared towards using people's poor self esteem about their appearance in order to make a lot of money off people's insecurities.

Take for example the attractive young woman's photo below, just one of many rhinoplasty patients whose photo is all over the internet. (Seriously, one half of rhinoplasty seems to be the giving away of before and after photos on the internet, mostly so the greedy rhinoplasty surgeon can make more money.) Anyway, back to my point. The woman in the photo is perfectly attractive, her nose is just a little crooked - so little that most people probably don't notice that much until you point it out.

So here is the important questions:

Did she NEED rhinoplasty?

No.

Was she attractive without rhinoplasty?

Yes.

Is society's obsession with "perfection" a mental disease?

Yes.

Did the surgeon make oodles of money off her insecurities and the insecurities of many other women and men?

Yes.

How many women vs men get rhinoplasty because they feel insecure about their appearance?

According to one source I found, 74% of rhinoplasty patients are women. According to a different source 221,000 Americans had rhinoplasty in 2013, which was down 9% from 2012.

And now to close, a scene from Seinfeld wherein a woman feels insecure about her nose thanks to Kramer's idiotic comment.

The Perfect Female Body Vs The Perfect Male Body

Long before Leonardo Da Vinci drew the "Vitruvian Man" - a drawing of what he considered to be the perfect proportions of the male body, mathematically set forth, men and women have long argued what the perfect appearance is.

Amongst either sex there is no consensus, but there are definitely trends and these trends can be compared visually after significant polling. For example we know that men prefer an hourglass frame that has a ratio of 3-2-3 (eg. 36-24-36) whereas women prefer women to have a skinnier, less meaty / less curvy frame.

When comparing men however, women again prefer the skinnier man - whereas men want the man to be more muscular (and likewise more curvy).

Back to the hourglass topic, when it comes SHAPE, men prefer women who have an hourglass shape. An A, V or O shape just doesn't cut it.

In contrast male shapes are considered to be more attractive if they are close to a V or wide V shape. Large hips on a man is too synonymous with fat and considered to be unattractive.

On the issue of fat men prefer women are neither skinny nor overweight - but rather has a decent amount of both fat and muscle on them. Too much or too little is considered unattractive. But the one in the middle is "just right".

Now you might think this is just the old school (and out dated) concept of ectomorph, endomorph and mesomorph - the concept that people are genetically one shape and have no power to change their shape. This outdated concept however ignores dramatic improvements in health standards made in the last 100 years and much newer understandings of fitness, nutrition and the roles they play in shaping our bodies. There are people who go through their lives and may have been skinny during high school, bulky up (matured) during university, and later put on some weight during their 40s and 50s. People are not genetically stuck in one shape. Bone structure and genetics does play a role, but people can still change their body fat and muscle levels to the extent that they will take on totally new shapes.

Thus a person who is too skinny could simply eat more, exercise more and become athletic / more curvy - and someone who eats too much, lacks exercise will become overweight.

The good news however is that for women curves and an hourglass shape is very beneficial for attracting a mate. For men the emphasis is on having toned muscles - without going overboard with them to the point they look ridiculous.

If the person is too curvy in the case of women or too muscular in the case of men then they start too look like a circus freak, an oddity that just looks "too much" - as shown by the two images below of a woman who is ridiculously curvy and a man with overdeveloped back muscles that looks just plain ridiculous. (It should be noted that both of these people are posing for the camera, showing a great degree of narcissism for their own bodies.)

Nobody likes a narcissist except themselves (and that love affair is freakishly annoying to everyone else). They might as well get a t-shirt of Vanity Smurf staring at himself so that everyone can be reminded of how boring narcissists are.

5 Ways to increase your chances of getting Laid on a First Date

#1. Clean yourself up and dress masculine and sophisticated.

Three reasons why this improves your odds. Women like men who take care of themselves physically, they should be clean and well groomed. Secondly, women like men who know how to dress themselves - so wearing sophisticated and manly clothing improves your odds dramatically.

So for example just wearing a manly yet sophisticated jacket from Kish Wear - Men's High Fashion, dramatically improves your odds your date will like you.

The problem is that most men tend to dress like slobs, and that does not impress women very much. At the same time however you don't want to come across as emasculated - what you want really is to give the impression with your clothes that you are like a rugged James Bond type who can fist fight a bear and then go dancing all in the same night.

#2. Only go out on dates on Friday night or Saturday night.

Honestly, timing is everything. Women work just like men do, and they don't want to spend the night at a man's place when they have to get up the next morning and work. That would mean showing up at work possibly late, in the wrong clothes, and all sorts of problems. Thus dates on Sunday nights to Thursday nights have a dramatically lower rate of people getting laid. Also, never meet for coffee in the morning or afternoon. Coffee dates are for suckers. Women use coffee dates to browse for men. They are significantly less likely to sleep with someone when they are just browsing.

Avoiding eye contact on a date is a great way to NOT get laid.
#3. Look into her eyes when you talk to her.

This is really important. Do not avoid eye contact when talking, as some men do when they feel uncomfortable. Instead what you need to do is every time you are talking to your date then give them your full attention by looking deep into their eyes when you are talking to them. Try to repeat that when they are talking to you too.

Don't stare at her breasts (although you can sneak a peek briefly), don't check the time on your phone, don't use your cellphone when bored unless she goes to the bathroom (in which case turn it off when she comes back), don't stare at a TV or other women. The only person who should be the centre of your attention is her.

#4. In conversation avoid anything controversial or trivial arguments.

Don't talk about abortion (she may have had one), evolution vs creationism, politics, religion, etc. Instead stick to entertaining topics. If sports come up talk about them briefly, but don't go into great detail about your favourite sport unless she is also very interested in that sport. And even so, know when to stop. If she looks at her watch it is time to switch topics. When it comes to pop culture don't get involved in trivial arguments and then check who is correct on your cellphone. It makes you appear to be the type of person who always has to be right - and arguing about something trivial on a first date is not a good sign.

#5. Clean your apartment / house as if your mother is coming over.

Nothing messes with your feng shui than having a huge mess in the place. You are not going to want to invite a woman over when your place looks like a giant laundry basket of dirty clothes. All your clothing should be in the closet, or neatly piled in a proper laundry basket (or stowed in a laundry bag). The floor should be clean, there should be less than 3 dishes in your sink or the sink should be empty. Your entire apartment / house should be spotless, as if your Great Aunt Ida is coming for a visit soon and she smacks you with her cane if the place isn't perfectly clean.

Furthermore the only things left out, clutter wise, should be your musical instrument, painting, woodworking project, architectural designs, poetry notebook or something creative which you have left on the coffee table. This gives you something to talk about. If you don't do any activities like that your next best option is a coffee table book about traveling overseas. (Because like your Great Aunt Ida, women appreciate a man who is creative / likes to travel abroad. She may be a stickler for cleanliness, but Aunt Ida loves to talk about all the trips she went on when she was younger.)

The same rule above also applies to your car or vehicle. It should be clean, spotless and the only piece of clutter should be a book / map of an area you want to drive to sometime (eg. Ontario's wine region in Niagara).

NOTES

These are just 5 tips that increase your chances of getting laid. They are not a guarantee. You could still mess up by insulting her in some unforeseen way. Or she could turn out to be a headcase / damaged goods, in which case you are better off without her. (Far too many women out there have developed some weird psychological hangups that make them unable to have long term relationships. If you sleep with such a person they might end up stalking you, treating you like dirt, messing your mind, any number of things. You are better off avoiding headcases as they need professional treatment before they can even stand a chance of having a long term relationship.)

Getting laid on a first date is actually a good signifier that your relationship will last a longer period of time and lead to a lasting relationship (possibly even marriage) - at least when it comes to modern women. Conservative / religious women expect to be wooed a lot longer before the courtship reaches the bedroom.

As such it is best to avoid women who are not your counterpart in terms of belief system. Atheists probably should not be dating Christians and vice versa. Muslims and Christians dating, not such a big deal because Jesus is a prophet in Islam. Before meeting women for dates (assuming you met them via online personals) screen out any who are potentially problematic because of their religion. Women who describe themselves as spiritual are okay (and often free spirits sexually), but Roman Catholics or Russian Orthodox might have some antiquated ideas about marriage before sex. (Which is funny, because people who don't have sex before marriage are more likely to have a divorce.)

Now I am not saying you cannot date women who are of a different belief system than yourself. Go right ahead. Just understand that it is not going to be easier when it comes to trying to make the relationship last more then 2 months.

Are Men Being Pressured to Accept Realistic Standards of Female Beauty?

This was originally posted in The Onion (which is a satirical news website), but it raises an interesting question about whether men are actually being pressured to accept realistic standards of female beauty.

'Confronted on a regular basis with images of women who represent a diverse array of body types, a growing number of American men are reportedly feeling pressured to accept the increasingly realistic standards of female beauty now depicted in the media, social scientists confirmed this week.

“More and more, men today find themselves bombarded with un-retouched images, and with that comes the considerable mental burden of trying to reconcile what they see in these ads and magazines with their personal perceptions of beauty,” said sociologist Cliff Hillard, who studies attainable ideals of female attractiveness in the media and how they can create an overly realistic sense of what women ought to look like. “For most men, it’s very discouraging. Instead of seeing only rail-thin models, they’re now exposed to accurate representations of women whose proportions mimic those of actual human females.”

“Think about the average man flipping through a magazine that features pictures of women who haven’t had their cheekbones raised or their noses reshaped with Photoshop,” Hillard continued. “How is he supposed to feel when he sees something like that?”

Every day, according to Hillard, men are faced with “inescapable” displays of average-sized women, women who are representatively diverse in terms of race and ethnicity, and women who are not professional models. According to one recent study, the average man sees photographs of women without digitally exaggerated bust-to-waist ratios dozens of times per day on TV, billboards, and the sides of buses, which the findings suggest has a demoralizing effect on the male psyche and has been shown to negatively influence men’s self-esteem and mood the more often they view such images.

Hillard noted that major companies like Dove, H&M, and Ralph Lauren now use nontraditional models in their advertising campaigns, an increasingly popular trend that, according to the sociologists’ research, ultimately serves to make men feel upset and frustrated when the women in commercials don’t live up to their own personal fantasies.

“Nowadays I can’t even leave the house without seeing an ad featuring properly proportioned women of statistically normal weights,” said San Diego–based civil engineer Spencer DeLane, adding that some of the models’ bodies are “startlingly average.” “Sometimes I don’t even want to go online or turn on the television because I know I’ll see a regular, healthy-looking woman. Don’t these advertisers understand how deeply depressing that is for me?”

“It’s not fair to me, and it’s not fair to other men like me,” he continued. “Having to live with society’s expectations that I accept women just the way they are takes an enormous toll.”

In a recent USA Today poll, 87 percent of men said that in the past month they’d seen an ad that made them feel inadequate by challenging their conceptions of physical beauty. Within that group, 74 percent said they’d seen a model posing without makeup and 83 said they’d seen visible blemishes, with a further 62 percent reporting that they’d seen a model with slight wrinkles around her eyes that “could very easily have been digitally or surgically removed.”

Armed with mounting evidence that men can feel crushed under the heavy mental strain to appreciate all types of women, Hillard questioned the costs of depicting them in a sensible way that reflects their natural physical variance.

“Here you’ve got a generation of boys who will grow up looking at women in the media and seeing flaws here, flaws there, flaws everywhere—what are they supposed to think?” said Hillard, who noted that his 12-year-old son is just now beginning to objectify women and that such portrayals could grossly alter what he perceives as an idealized female form for the rest of his life. “That’s why it’s more important than ever to empower men so they can teach themselves to ignore these ads and images.”

“We men simply need to have conviction in our own ideas of what makes a woman beautiful,” he added.'

To me this comes back to age old adage:

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

Some men prefer women who are well endowed with larger hips, larger breasts, and so forth - while some men prefer skinny women. Rarely are women both skinny and well-endowed.

"The Vitruvian Woman" varies wildly from man to man, although the accepted norm (according to psychologists) is a breast to waist to hip ratio of 3-2-3, such as 36-24-36 or 32-21-32 or similar ratios.

Even women have an idealized ratio for men, of what they consider attractive, which is approximately a chest-waist-hip ratio of 10-7-9. Large chest, slim waist, nice buttocks.

Exercising for Women - Why is it taboo?

There is a weird double standard within society when it comes to women exercising.

Women are expected to be beautiful - because men desire beautiful women, and women want to be desirable.

But in order to maintain the kind of beauty that men find desirable, women need to exercise.

However on a cultural level women who exercise are considered to be less than feminine. They are referred to by any number of derogatory names: Tomboys, dykes, etc. Even female athletes are treated poorly because they are seen as less than male athletes.

And yet judging by videos like the one further below, females who exercise (even those who aren't athletes) are highly desirable.

It is as if women are expected to have cake and they're allowed to eat it for once, but they're not allowed to make it somehow.

So how are women supposed to get this beautiful body they're expected to have without exercising? Diet? That just leads to eating disorders like anorexia and bulimia. Or worse, yo-yo dieting and stretch marks from rapid weight changes.

What really needs to happen is a cultural change wherein women who exercise are more revered by society as a whole - as opposed to one aspect of society supporting exercise for women and another aspect of society condoning it and treating women who exercise as less than feminine.

Having watched the video above do you think the women in the video were less than feminine? Probably not. They are very obviously feminine and very attractive to boot.

This means we need to endorse and applaud women who exercise and give young women more positive role models who are female athletes they can look up to. Not just in North America either, but globally.

From a male perspective this means two things - more attractive women out there - and it means that we men need to do better ourselves and exercise more because we aren't as fit as we like to think we are.

Escorts and Sex Workers at Work

Note

I admit I am probably not the best person to be discussing this topic. I don't even go to strip clubs and the last time I went to a bachelor party and some of the guys decided they wanted to go to a strip club, I hastily decided to go home early because I had zero interest in watching what goes on inside a strip club.

I also recall refraining from drinking any Screech during that particular bachelor party, not because I have any aversion to alcohol, but simply because I don't like Screech and prefer other forms of alcoholic beverages.

There are two kinds of sex workers out there. And I don't mean male or female, although there is certainly that too, and I shall cover that topic further below.

What I am speaking of is the difference between $80 per hour prostitutes and $200+ per hour escorts.

Prostitutes are often the result of "white slavery" and the pimping of women, often for the benefit of men who are running the show and taking the profits. It is an industry fraught with abuse, drug addiction, human trafficking, and emotionally damaged women.

Escorts in contrast often work for themselves (or for an escort agency). Some of them are also dominatrixes - the beauty of which means they often don't even engage in sex, but rather in BDSM torment of willing male slaves who just love having their nipples twisted and getting spanked by a woman wearing tight black leather.

Escorts often make between $200 and $500 per hour, depending on the city, their niche speciality, how classy their looks are - the classier they look the more they make.

Plus Escorts are often in the business not because they are being forced to - but because they chose to make a living this way and have become accustomed to the perks of having a job that pays hundreds of dollars per hour.

Of course not everyone is cut out to be a high-class escort. They are basically a special breed of women - intelligent, sexually liberated, often poly-amorous, and very beautiful. They make up a very tiny percentage of the population as most women simply don't have that combination of looks, brains and street smarts.

Street smarts is a very important topic when it comes to Escorts. After all, depending on state, province or country prostitution is illegal. In Canada for example, prostitution is NOT illegal, but pimping and solicitation is illegal. Basically what that means is that women can be prostitutes - but they're not allowed to advertise it openly and men aren't allowed to pimp them and exploit them sexually.

In addition to being private entrepreneurs, the thing about Escorts is that they aren't necessarily paid to have sex - although for a price, they can do that - but rather they are often just paid as eye candy to be a wealthy man's plus one for social engagements. Which puts them in a legal grey area because they're more like models then - meant to be seen in public as an advertisement more than anything else.

There is also "happy ending massage parlours" and similar places. They're basically brothels, but often offering services like Nuru gel massages, erotic massage, and so forth. I recall first seeing such places when I was living in South Korea where they were sometimes called "Love Baongs"... Not to be confused with "Love Hotels" which were basically kinky hotel rooms for couples (either married, not married, or people who were cheating on their spouses) which rented rooms by the hour.

From a feminist perspective you also have to think of terms of who is in charge here - the Escort evidently is controlling the situation - or in the case of a Dominatrix, controlling it more so in the extreme. We can all certainly agree that if a woman is being forced into a situation where she is being exploited that that is both morally wrong and illegal - but if the woman is doing this of her own free will, without any coercion whatsoever, and is either working for herself or for a women owned escort agency, then that is certainly her choice.

We may not agree with it, but if its her choice and her free will, who are we to say she can't do what she wants to do?

The smart escorts of course are probably saving up their money and thinking of the future when their looks will no longer be enough. There has been quite a few who no doubt used their earnings to pay for their university bills / college education.

Which if anything is a scathing condemnation of the high costs of university tuition if women feel compelled to become escorts so they can pay for their university tuition. Something which is basically the result of cheapskate politicians who cut back on funding for post-secondary education.

I also think it is funny that being a pornstar is legal in the USA, but being a prostitute is not - even though they're both getting paid to have sex.

Which begs another question - Are gigolos (male escorts) illegal in the USA? Male prostitutes (usually performing sex with other men) are known by a variety of euphemisms including male escorts, gigolos, rent-boys, hustlers, models or masseurs.

Such men typically work in a male brothel known as a "Stable" - or gay bathhouses, adult bookstores, or adult "sex clubs".

Internationally there is a lot of slang terms used to describe such male prostitutes, including:

  • Manshora ("male whore") - Sweden
  • Hímringyó (meaning "male whore") - Hungary
  • Rando - Nepali
  • Randwa - India
  • Taxi boy - Argentina; Chile
  • Escort - Chile and many other countries
  • Schandknaap - Netherlands (a passive homosexual partner)
  • Pinguero, jinetero - Cuba
  • Cachero, puto, prostituto - Ecuador
  • Prostituto, puto, garoto de programa (meaning "program boy"), michê, michet, gigolô - Brazil
  • Flete, gigolo or gigolón - Peru
  • Prostituto (for comparison, the word used for female prostitutes is prostituta) - Portugal
  • Jigolo, tokmakçı - Turkey
  • Chichifo (pl. chichifos), puto, prostituto, chacal, mayate - Mexico
  • Callboy - Germany; Philippines
  • Sholbam - Philippines
  • Boys - Tunisia
  • Masajista, puto - Colombia
  • Stricher (usually more derogatory term compared to callboy) - Germany
  • 男娼 (Nanchang) or 男妓 (Nanji), in Chinese. Informally, 鸭子 → yāzǐ (meaning "duck") - Mainland China; 鴨/ money boy, ngaap2 (meaning "duck") - Hong Kong
  • Gigolò, puttano, marchettaro - Italy
  • Chapero, prostituto, puto, gigolo - Spain
  • Tapin - France; gigolo - France, Germany and many other countries; escorte - France and Quebec
  • Trækkerdreng (meaning "boy that walks the streets") - Denmark
  • Жиголо → zhygolo - Ukraine
  • Жиголо → zhigolo - Bulgaria and Russia
  • Жиголо → žigolo - Serbia and Macedonia
  • Ζιγκολό → zigolo - Greece
  • 男娼 → danshō 売り専/ウリ専 → urisen (lit. "exclusively sold") - Japan
  • sشرموط → sharmūṭ - Arabic
  • Zhigolo - Albania
  • Żigolo, żigolak; męska dziwka (meaning "male bitch"); męska kurwa (meaning "male whore", usually derogatory) - Poland
  • 남창(男娼) → namchang (meaning "male prostitute") - South Korea
  • Sanky panky; bugarrón - Dominican Republic
  • Escorta; puto - Puerto Rico
  • Rattopoika (meaning "pastime boy") - Finland
  • Trai bao ("covered boy"); trai gọi ("call boy") - Vietnam
  • Anak ikan; moneyboy; pendangboy - Malaysia
  • Rent boy - United Kingdom
  • זונה → Zoneh → Israel
  • Gandu - Pakistan
  • Mindagadu - Telugu language, Andhra, India
  • Gigolo; Kucing (meaning "cat") - Indonesia
  • Žigolo - Lithuania, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina
What can I say? Its simply such a risque topic.

I should also note the gigolos who work solely for women are not unheard of - but they are extremely rare as most women are not willing to pay for sex.

Indeed I would hazard a guess that it is quite the opposite. Women would be more likely to engage in a Friends With Benefits Relationship rather than pay for sex.

However I think I should point out that FWB is so rare (possibly rarer than sex workers) that while many men and women dream of having such a relationship, they never achieve it because its considered to be very complicated on an emotional level. It is comparatively less complicated emotionally to just accept money for sex because the expectation then is that you will never see the person again.

Much like an one night stand. Which might explain why that happens so often too - because sometimes people just want the sex and then don't want to see the other person ever again.

Sometimes women also use men for sex. I know this because it has happened to me. (I didn't get paid however.)

Back in 2012 I was dating a young Chinese woman and when she and I broke up she explained it was because her parents would never approve of her dating a white man and that she had only been using me for sex - because apparently Caucasiaphilia is just one of those things some Asian women have.

Which begs the question - Would it be possible for a white man to make a living in a large Asian city as a gigolo for women? Tokyo or Beijing for example?

Female escorts from Russia are quite popular in Asia - and comparatively well-paid. Its the same for French or Russian escorts operating in North American cities. Anyone who is exotic gets paid a lot more.

eg. If you go to Alberta, Canada, the highest paid escorts are not white women - its black women / ebony ecorts because they are more rare and exotic in Alberta. In contrast ebony escorts in Toronto are comparatively on par with Caucasian women and Asian women prices wise - but if the escort also speaks French or has a French accent, watch their prices skyrocket.

So would a male French gigolo do well in Asia? Difficult to say.

I imagine he would eventually start to lose his good looks - and if he didn't use his brains to save up a nest egg then I guess he would eventually run low on funds and have to find a different line of work.

It is the same with all sex workers - they either get out of the business while they still can (and hopefully have saved some of their earnings) - or they fall into hard times.

I think that is why I am favour of the new trend towards Escorts. Because they are so well-paid comparatively is a mark towards the gradual evolution of the industry towards something where female and male sex workers are treated more fairly... complete with pensions, dental and benefits.

Could you imagine if it eventually reached a point where sex workers were unionized and could go on strike for more benefits, better pay and better pensions?

It sounds like a science-fiction novel of a distopian future. Although to be fair, we already have a distopia - and compared to the 1950s we are the future. They probably never imagined the kind of social changes that would happen over the past 60 years.

Eventually at some point in the future someone is going to invent a Sex Robot... at which point we will see one or two things happen... Either the sex robots will be so good that the sex workers industry basically disappears entirely...

Or the sex robots will be only so good and people will crave something that has emotions and intelligence. In which case we may see a revival in what we refer to as "Courtesans" - women who were both available sexually, but valued both for their looks and their intelligence.

In Japan such women were known as Oiran, Geishas, Tayu and so forth and were considered to be more like "Entertainers" than anything else... and it was most certainly a business.

Male P*rnstars + Penis Enlargement Surgery

Someone has pointed out to me that I have numerous posts which bring up the topic of breast implants, but I have zero posts which talk about Penis Enlargement Surgery.

To be specific three posts come to mind:
So yes, I admit we have discussed that quite a bit and have devoted zero attention to the topic of Penis Enlargement Surgery.

Until now!

According to my research this type of surgery is really popular in several places:

#1. Hollywood (mostly p*rnstars who want to be bigger, but also celebrities who are insecure about their size)

#2. United States (although I think this more about having more access to this type of surgery)

#3. China and India (super embarrassing for the men over there I guess)

#4. Germany (also known for its p*rn industry)

The average penis length (according to a 1996 study) is:
  • unstretched, flaccid length 8.8cm (3.9 inches)
  • stretched (pulled firmly out from the body), flaccid length 12.4cm (4.8 inches).
  • erect penis, measured in the same way as above, is 12.9cm (5.2 inches).
Note: Some places that do provide Penis Enlargement Surgery apparently have a minimum "shortness requirement" of less than 3 inches when erect. They apparently feel it is unethical to operate on anyone who is already longer than that.

Of course that doesn't stop Hollywood or the p*rn industry. They just shop around and find a surgeon who will do it anyway.

Its estimated that roughly half of all male p*rnstars in the USA have had Penis Enlargement Surgery.

So if you're a man and you've been watching too much p*rn and feeling inadequate, then don't! That stuff you are watching is more fake than Pamela Anderson's breasts during the 1990s.

So lets pretend for a moment that you were a man who had an erect penis of only 3 inches. Honestly, you probably can't even get women to stick with you once they find out how small you are in bed. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad for the people who go through the whole dating process only to have their love interest dump them because "Your penis is too small!"

Okay, so following that assumption, how much does Penis Enlargement Surgery actually cost?

Answer - About $4,500 appears to be the average cost. It ranges between $4,000 and $5,000 for a lengthening surgery. (You can also have a girth enhancement for $2,000 and a skin graft done for another $5,000. Three surgeries totaling about $12,000 if you want to go all out.)

And while we are at, how much of an increase is actually possible?

Answer - 1/2 an inch to up to 2 inches, varies on the person.

Ogawd... Imagine the poor guy with a 2 inch penis who goes through the surgery, pays $5,000, and it only increases his length by 1/2 an inch?

I am sorry, but that is really funny (and sad). I am sorry I am not treating this with more sensitivity, but I honestly think that is really laughable.

Its not funny if Mr Shorty commits suicide afterwards, I admit, but I must admit as a somewhat macho guy I've been raised in a culture that makes fun of men with really short penises - and treats such things as inherently funny.

And I not alone. In South Korea they have parks filled with giant erect penis statues. I've included photos below.

I think the point I am trying to make here is that size does matter to men. Men want to be either average or above average. If they are less than average... or worse, pathetically small, then its just embarrassing for them.

And note also that men don't seem to care how beautiful their penis is. Size is pretty much all they care about. As if having a "big and beautiful penis" isn't something that women would desire. Goes nicely with "tall, dark and handsome".

The Perfect Male Body at Work

I've been meaning to write this particular blog post for awhile.

Partially because I have a strong interest in exercise and being fit, but also because its interesting in terms of what people actually consider attractive... And lastly because one of my previous blog posts, The Perfect Female Body at Work, is the most popular blog post on this site.

So in the interest of doing the reverse of that post I decided I should research the topic of the Perfect Male Body... and just see what scientists and experts on the topic have to say.

On the right is a photo of male fashion model Marcus Schenkenberg. Widely regarded to be one of the most attractive men in the last century - beating out people like Sean Connery, Burt Reynolds and even Tom Selleck.

According to one poll I came across in my research Tom Selleck in his younger years, when he was Magnum PI, was ranked by women as the most attractive male actor. Suck on that Sean Connery.

Symmetry

First, according to an article in Psychology Today women seek out relationships with handsome men for their genes - and handsomeness is largely determined by symmetry. Symmetry is effected by having a healthful body and thus the level of a man's health correlates directly to his physical attractiveness.

Symmetrical physical healthiness form part of the equation for the perfect body for men. Genetic mutations, abnormalities and environmental factors can reduce symmetry in human body development. Symmetry provides an evolutionary symbol for mating. According to another article, this one in Live Science, men with higher degrees of symmetry on the face and body will have more sexual partners than men with lower degrees of symmetry. Even men who are overweight or skinny will be considered more attractive if their face is symmetrical and thus garner them more women.

Above Right - A photo of arm wrestling champion Matthias Schlitte with his one freakishly large arm. He only exercises the one arm... and is an example of what NOT to do if you want to have a symmetrical body.

Getting a symmetrical body is really just a matter of exercising ALL your body parts evenly combined with a healthy diet. Various genetic abnormalities will decrease the level of symmetry, but most of it can be corrected. Even a crooked nose can be partially corrected by doing Nose Exercises.

Upper Body

The perfect body for men features a broad torso. According to several sources physical attractiveness for men also depends on broad shoulders. The human male evolved a broader torso to support larger lung capacity and better distribution of oxygen. This supports running and exercising.

Even today leaders of tribal civilizations tend to have a broad torsos. Likewise women are more attracted to a male body that features broad shoulders and a strong chest with muscular arms, but those factors are not the be all - end all, because again those things should be symmetrical.

Having broad shoulders and a broad chest likely is a visual factor in voting for leaders too, although not for women obviously.

Lower Body

Small, firm buttocks are another feature of the perfect body for men. Sexual intercourse involves thrusting motions that are supported by muscles in a man's upper legs and buttocks and thus a nice muscular butt that is the right shape for thrusting suggests a man who is virile in bed. A Psyduction magazine article suggests that women prefer men with small and firm rear ends because it suggests they are more powerful lovers.

Thus for men wearing a kilt which covers up a shapely butt is a big no-no. If anything men with a nice ass should be making an effort to show off their goods by wearing skin tight clothing. Like the shot of Batman's (Val Kilmer's) butt below from "Batman Forever" which they did as lewd joke within the film while hs is strapping on his armour/costume.

Waist-to-Hip Ratio

The perfect body for men has a waist-to-hip ratio of approx. 0.9. The Royal Society published a study that says that women prefer men who have a torso with an inverted triangle shape. This shape corresponds with a man that has a narrow waist, and a broad chest and shoulders.

Meanwhile a Live Science article says that women prefer men who have a waist-to-hip ratio between 0.8 and 1.0. The article notes that men within this range are less susceptible to certain diseases, such as cardiovascular and blood sugar problems or cancer - whereas men who are overweight and have large bellies / asses are more likely to have health problems. The Royal Society study states that this ratio is related to the distribution of fat between the upper and lower body and obesity correlates with higher waist-to-hip ratios.

Men with pot bellies thus just aren't sexy. Pot bellies are due to malnutrition (too much sugar and carbs) and are a sign of someone who just doesn't eat properly. So again, that is something that can be fixed through exercise and healthy eating.

Volume Height Index / BMI

The perfect body for men also has a volume height index that corresponds with higher levels of health. The volume height index is a man's volume divided by the square of his height. According to various sources the volume height index is the best indicator of male attractiveness and that the volume height index is a more reliable measure of male attractiveness than the waist-to-hip ratio. Whether this is true or not is questionable.

All volume height index is really just a different way of calculating BMI (Body Mass Index), a tool typically used for measuring whether people are obese, overweight, healthy or anorexic.

Except under the VHI system, anorexic men would be considered attractive, which we know is not true. Therefore I don't think the VHI system is reliable. A better system is BMI, wherein the healthy middle ground for BMI is the obvious choice for attractiveness.

Hair

According to my research most women prefer men with lots of hair - a la Burt Reynolds.

According to sources the reason is because lots of healthy looking hair is a sign of virility. Men with lots of chest hair / etc = a sexy beast in the sack, which will produce similarly healthy babies.

In contrast baldness or lack of hair suggests a deformity or genetic inferiority. However this isn't true for all women however. Some women prefer men who are bald, as per Sean Connery or Bruce Willis.

But for the vast majority of women body hair is considered to be an attractive feature.

So what do women like best?

According to a poll done in the London Sunday Times here is a list of 11 attributes British men imagine women admire most about them.

Muscular Chest and Shoulders 21%
Muscular Arms 18%
Penis 15%
Tallness 13%
Flat Stomach 9%
Slimness 7%
Hair 4%
Buttocks 4%
Eyes 4%
Long Legs 3%
Neck 2%

And here is the real results of what physical attributes British women found most attractive:

Buttocks (described as "small and sexy") 39%
Slimness 15%
Flat Stomach 13%
Eyes 11%
Long Legs 6%
Tallness 5%
Hair 5%
Neck 3%
Penis 2%
Muscular Chest and Shoulders 1%
Muscular Arms 0%

So evidently what men think is attractive vs what women really want are two worlds apart. The buttocks are, according to the poll of women, 19.5 times more important than the penis for example.

CONCLUSIONS

What women really want, and consider perfect, is a tall man with long legs who is slim, has nice abs, nice eyes and hair, a nicely shaped neck and penis (WTF is with the neck stats???) and if he is muscular that is a nice bonus. Basically a man who is fit and has a nice butt and abs.

So how does a man get a nice butt and abs?

Cardio exercises. Lots of cardio. Plus sit ups once you've lost the necessary weight. Doing ab exercises won't do anything if its under a layer of fat except make your stomach bulge out more. You have to lose the weight via cardio first, then start focusing on ab exercises and core strengthening exercises. Weightlifting will help a bit, but its better to target the core muscles (abs, obliques and back muscles) first.

You can't do much about the genetic factors of long legs and tallness. You are what you are. But exercising to look better certainly helps. This poll now shows why Marcus Schenkenberg and Tom Selleck rank so high. They are both tall, slim, nice abs / butt, good eyes, hair, and I am guessing neck too.

Why would women find a man's neck so important? I am guessing it is due to symmetry.

Archery Chicks at Work

Seriously.

What is it with films depicting women as archers?

And I don't just mean the Hunger Games. I also mean films like

Princess of Thieves (starring Keira Knightley with a bow)

King Arthur (starring Keira Knightley with a bow, again)

Your Highness (starring Natalie Portman with a bow)

Brave (animated, so that doesn't really count)

Blade Trinity (starring Jessica Biel with a bow)

Chronicles of Narnia (starring Anne Popplewell with a bow)

And the list keeps going. It isn't limited to Hollywood films either. A lot of Japanese anime also features female archers. Inuyasha's Kagome and Kikyo both use a bow.

It really is a huge stereotype of female archers in films. Sure, I admit, I would rather watch a female shooting arrows than a male... just a preference of beauty... But I am a tad annoyed at the constant stereotype that if a female is in a war-like scenario she goes for the bow over the sword or axe.

I think its because, perhaps, a bit of a judgmental thing on the part of the writers in Hollywood. They don't think women can swing a sword or an axe. Totally ignoring the chick with the axe in Dragonheart... or any movie containing Joan of Arc.

Thus it is well-established that women are perfectly capable of swinging a sword or axe. But Hollywood writers apparently don't like having women in the thick of melee combat and instead often have them as "supporting cast" wielding bows instead.

Now I am not saying Hollywood should stop making films with females who are archers. Absolutely not! Keep doing that... but try to mix it up with some more variety.

How about spears? Javelins? Tridents? Blowdarts? Crossbows? Throwing Axes? Good ol' fashioned throwing knives?

And since Hollywood is currently on an archery kick, would you please make something about the life of Awa Kenzo? Yes, technically it would be a drama - not much action in the life of a zen archery master. But make it anyway because his life is actually a very interesting story.

Except I don't think Hollywood would ever make such a film. It would really only be Japanese filmmakers who would think to make that.

Valeria Lukyanova Exercising + Makeup

Have you heard of Valeria Lukyanova?

She is the Ukrainian model with a body and face that strongly resembles the classic Barbie doll - and is billed as such in advertising work that she does.

But how did she get that insanely fit body and her face to look like Barbie?

Well the face is mostly makeup apparently. Although she has been accused of using plastic surgery, Valeria Lukyanova maintains her looks are completely the result of well executed makeup designed to make her look more like Barbie.

The name she prefers to use is "Amatue", which may sound great in her native Ukrainian, but in English looks and sounds like Amateur.

She has also been accused of having her photos photoshopped, which some of them might be, but if you watch videos of her you can see she clearly looks like that in real life. So if there is any photoshopping going on the changes are comparatively minor... things like trying to make her eyes look bigger so she looks more doll-like and un-human. And to be fair, she is already using makeup to make her eyes look bigger so photoshop seems like overkill.

See the video below to see how she manages her makeup.

The thing however is that Valeria Lukyanova claims to maintain her physique using nothing more than exercise - and judging by her workout videos (shown below) she is using low weights and high repetitions to accomplish this goal. According to a Certified Personal Trainer from Cardio Trek using low weights and a high reps workout would result in an ultra thin body, with very little muscle tone and very little fat.

Now you might think, well what about her breasts? If she is exercising that much, shouldn't she lose some of her breast size by working out so much?

Not necessarily. Some women are simply blessed with well-developed breasts, and breast size doesn't decrease dramatically unless they're either anorexic or taking steroids. Natural breasts will ultimately look natural. And looking at the photo above, they're not HUGE and they do appear to be proportional for the size of her chest. And certainly not abnormal when you consider the number of women I've seen at the beach with similar proportions (although they are usually teens or in their 20s if they look that perky).

What is more unnerving is how thin she looks, but without that bony look that anorexic women typically get. Again, this could be due to her exercise routine. So lets have a look at her exercise videos below and see what she is actually doing.

So yes, we can conclude that she is exercising to keep her body ultra thin, but maintaining just a small amount of muscle tone so she doesn't look anorexic. Chalk that down to a very specific exercise routine.

But lets imagine you want to look like Barbie too. Can you do it? Is it even possible?

Well with exercise, you could certainly try to get part of the way there, and you would look fabulous. But its doubtful that you have the right facial proportions and some impressive skills with makeup to do what Valeria Lukyanova does.

Snog Burning at Work

A lot of Canadian men out there have been growing beards lately, apparently unafraid of what women might say about the dreaded snog burn that comes from kissing a man with a beard. What is behind this trend?

Honestly from what I can tell the whole question as to whether to shave or go primal largely depends on several factors:

#1. Social acceptance at work and/or can I get a job with a beard? Because lets face it, people have in-person interviews so they can see what you look like.

#2. Whether the girlfriend or wife likes facial hair. This can be a big deciding factor for many men.

#3. Whether celebrities are doing it too. eg. We see George Clooney doing it and think we can too.

#4. Whether a particular person actually looks good with a beard. Because lets face it, we don't all look like George Clooney. Some of us look horrible with a beard.

I suppose it would not be so bad if we all lived in Muslim countries where beards were both socially accepted and even expected of men.

In contrast to a more moderate country like Iraq, where mustaches are more socially acceptable.

The whole trick with growing a beard - which I have done numerous times in the past - is that growing one changes how people view you.

Back in Summer 2002 I grew a beard for 3-4 months (and looked like Jesus) and discovered that people treated me differently. Rudely. I call it "anti-beardism".

Thus if so many people consider beards to be unattractive, why would some women consider beards attractive and enjoy "snog burning" (kissing a bearded man)?

Personal preference? Because it tickles / burns your face, sometimes even causing a rash?

I do not have an answer. Any women who read this, feel free to provide your answer in the comments below as to why you enjoy kissing a man with a beard because we really want to know.

Facial hair styles through the decades...

1920s to 1930s - Mustaches.

1940s - Sideburns.

1950s - Beatnik beards and mustaches.

1960s - Hippie beards.

1970s - P*rnstar mustaches.

1980s - Stubble.

1990s - Goatee.

2000s - Peace Patch / The Movember.

I would also point out that for men university and college is a big liberator for facial hair. Walk around an university campus and you see men who look like Grizzly Adams, cavemen, 1920s gangsters and James Bond villains.

Enter the business world and every man (almost all) are clean shaven. Can you name a CEO with a mustache or goatee? Probably not.

Same goes with lawyers. Ever seen a lawyer with a beard? I have not.

Politicians. Sometimes, but it is a rarity these days. Nobody wants to be compared to Hitler or Stalin.

George Clooney could probably pull off a pretty handsome Stalin if Hollywood ever wanted to make a biopic on him.

And then there is the Fu Manchu style mustache... popularized (not really) by people like Hulk Hogan, Samuel L. Jackson and a few others.

You are more likely to see that particular mustache on an American football player or redneck than anyone else.

Some men also grow beards during the winter.

Just, you know, to keep their faces warm.

Makes perfect sense.

But if they're applying for a job chances are likely they will shave it off just to look younger.

Or shave it off to increase their chances of attracting a woman.

But grow it again later, once they feel like expressing their individuality, after they feel secure in their job and love life.

Men using Make-Up in South Korea

South Korean men spent $495.5 million on skincare last year, accounting for nearly 21% of global sales, according to global market research firm Euromonitor International. South Korea is the male makeup capital of the world.

That is a mind-boggling number from a socially conservative country with mandatory two-year military conscription for men. It is a very male dominated country where women live in fear of not marrying before the age of 30 and becoming known as an ajumma (grandmother).

Young Korean men are making meticulous efforts to paint the perfect face in an effort to land the perfect job. Their goal is to make their skin look flawless and lighter and highlighting eyebrows until they're thicker, bolder.

The end goal is to look sophisticated and more Western. (Koreans sometimes have darker skin and the standard of beauty in Korea is to have very pale white skin.)

Estimates are that total sales of men's cosmetics in South Korea this year will be more than $885 million, despite there being only 19 million adult men in South Korea. That means the average Korean is now spending $46.58 on cosmetics... and you have to figure the older generation isn't doing it quite so much and its mostly younger men.

It really comes down to fierce competition for jobs, advancement and even romance. South Korean women now have a growing expectation that men will take the time and effort to pamper their skin.
And it is being encouraged by companies too. Korean Air holds once-a-year makeup classes for male flight attendants and other companies are also giving lessons.

In South Korea effeminate male beauty has become "a marker of social success", meaning if you are successful, you wear make-up. So people who want to be successful are choosing to wear make-up in an effort to further that goal.

And its being pushed in the popular media which says that flawless skin is a crucial part of any plan to get ahead at work and romance.

It wasn't always this way. The ideal South Korean man used to be rough and tough. A lot has changed since the 1990s, allowing in more Japanese products and exposing South Koreans to different ideas on male beauty, including popular Japanese manga comics featuring pretty, effeminate men.

James Turnbull, a writer and lecturer on Korean feminism, sexuality and popular culture, said the economic crisis that hit South Korea in 1997 and 1998 also played a role in shifting thinking. Struggling companies often fired their female employees first, angering women who had already seen their push for equal rights take a backseat to protest movements against Japanese colonizers and the autocratic governments that followed. As such South Korea never really had much of a feminist movement.

So instead now Korea is having a shift in the other direction: A Male Effeminate Movement.

It isn't just make-up either. Many South Korean young men are adopting metro-sexual lifestyles in an effort to fit in and get ahead socially.

In 2002, a hero of South Korea's World Cup soccer team, Ahn Jung-hwan, who became a leading member of the "flower men" — a group of exceptionally good-looking, smooth-skinned, fashionable sports stars and celebrities who found great success selling male cosmetics. Men everywhere began striving to look like them, with the encouragement of the women around them, and the new trend was started.

Ten years later, ads featuring handsome, heavily made-up male celebrities are now unavoidable / part of the Korean scenery and young men using makeup is now commonplace.

So will this happen in North America? Difficult to say. With the Emo movement and fops like Justin Bieber you have to wonder...

Being Sexy at Work

SEX - Do you know what sells lingerie? Its not the sex, its the mystery of what lays beneath and it leaves the female body parts up to our imagination.

It doesn't even have to be lingerie. It can be any kind of fashion item provided it actually clothes the body.

Take the photo on the right as an example. It gets the point across. Its attractive and alluring... but all of this depends on the imagination. Skin by itself doesn't provoke much imagination. Its the shape of the skin and the flesh underneath. Muscles. Angles. Curves. And you don't need bare flesh to see curves.

And this works equally well with men.

What looks more attractive? A man wearing an extra large baggy shirt?

Or a man wearing a tight-fitting shirt which shows his physique?

The answer for most people is obvious, the tight-fitting shirt.

The problem however is if you are overweight... and have rolls of fat that you want to hide. That is when the baggy clothes comes in because you are looking to hide fatty rolls.

Lets look at the following photos as an example... two similarly attractive women both wearing grey... but you can see the curves of this woman on the right because her clothes are tight fitting.

Now once you've learned this fashion sexiness principle you realize why you its important to do two things when trying to attract a mate:

#1. Stay fit. Get nice abs. Do yoga and cardio.
#2. Wear clothes suitable for your size that is either tight fitting or not too baggy.

And provided you have a nice personality to go with your sexy body you will have no problem attracting a mate.

How to get a Softer Mustache (or Beard)

I've been growing a Movember (a Mustache to raise awareness for prostate cancer) during the month of November...

Alas the damn thing itches and the bristles are, well, bristly. Probably pretty annoying when kissing the ladies too.

So how do I get a softer / less itchy mustache?

While it is true that everyone's hair is different, there are some ways to get softer hair.

#1. CONDITIONER.

This is the biggest and best thing you can do. When washing your hair with shampoo and conditioner, use a dab on your mustache (or beard) and let it sit awhile. Then lightly rinse it out after a couple minutes. If you leave a little bit of conditioner in your mustache, good. It will moisturize the hair and make it even softer.

#2. HARSH ALKALINE SHAMPOO

ie. Baby Shampoo. It will make your hair really soft. The alkaline breaks down the coarseness.

#3. MOISTURIZERS

ie. Hand moisturizers, shea butter, that sort of thing.

#4. BRUSH DAILY

Use a natural bristle brush.

#5. TRIM, DON'T CUT.

Cutting your mustache all at once with a sharp razor will leave sharp points at the ends of the hair. If you trim only little bits at a time with dull scissors it will leave softer points and only effect a small percentage of the hairs as opposed to making the whole mustache sharp again.

#6. HOT AIR

Use a blow dryer after shampooing and conditioning.

#7. PERM

Using a perm solution seems a bit drastic, but it will definitely help.

#8. DIET

Adding linseed oil and flaxseed oil to your diet will also make your hair softer. This goes for the whole body. It also makes your skin softer and a bunch of other health benefits.

Anorexic Women and Arnold Schwarzenegger at Work

HEALTH - I totally understand why Arnold Schwarzenegger cheated on his wife Maria Shriver... and later separated from her in 2010 and now looks to be heading towards divorce.

Have you seen Maria Shriver? She is so anorexic she looks like a skeletal corpse.

When Arnold and Maria first met many years ago Maria Shriver was a thin but reasonably healthy woman. She was in many ways a trophy wife, but had intellect and was a member of the Kennedy Family (and thus a boon to Arnold Schwarzenegger's political career).

However as she got older Maria Shriver became more obsessed with dieting / cutting back on food that she began to look like somekind of undead monster. Combined with this is the associated mental disorders such an eating disorder like anorexia brings with it. She became irritable, obsessive, problematic... in short she became a mental head case.

To treat such a problem what you need is a psychiatrist, which Arnold Schwarzenegger is not.

But what Arnold Schwarzenegger is however is a bodybuilding health nut. To him this wasting away of muscle and fat to leave only skin and bones would have been seen as the opposite of what Maria Shriver should be doing. If she wanted to look beautiful the thing to do is to eat well and exercise. That Arnold certainly knows.

It is therefore perhaps no surprise that approx. 14 years ago that Arnold Schwarzenegger cheated on his wife Maria Shriver in favour of the much more attractive housekeeper Patty (Mildred Patricia Baena) and in the process fathered a son, who has recently been the centre of much media attention.

As a working mother Patty had to take care of Maria and Arnold's four children, cook, clean and do laundry. She was certainly eating healthy and getting lots of exercise. She was a virtual sexy amazon compared to Maria Shriver's withered corpse of a body.

The point I am making here isn't that Arnold cheated on his anorexic wife. I am not endorsing cheating whatsoever. The point I am making is that anorexia is NOT sexy. Never is, never will be.

Only some seriously mentally deficient person would want to have sex with a skeleton. That is just plain sick.

With respect to Arnold Schwarzenegger it is no surprise that he tried to do the honourable thing and hold his family together long enough so his children could all grow up with a family, including the bastard son who apparently spent a reasonable amount of time on his estate. While he kept it a secret from his family, he made the son a welcome part of their extended family.

I would speculate that Arnold Schwarzenegger will eventually find love again in his life, but this time he will pay closer attention to finding someone who shares his interest in healthy diet and exercise.
